Abstract

Based on a review of social support groups and her experiences in the field of child and youth care, the author proposes a support group model for child and youth care workers. Roles of group members, contracting procedures, group processes, and a method of evaluation are discussed. The author postulates that such a group model will aid in reducing job stress and enhance worker effectiveness.
