This paper is an edited version of an address given at the Annual Seminar of the Residential Child Care Committee at Parkerville Children's Home, Perth, Western Australia in July 1983. The focus of the paper is on the improtance of direct care practitioners as the promoters of child development. It also offers a formulation for thinking about the skills areas of dirct practice.Downloads
