Abstract

This article takes a brief look at four concerns relating to the future of child and youth care training, particularly with respect to the design and development of the CYC curriculum: the shift to a systems-based model of care; the retention of a reflective element within the context of more competency-based training; the awareness of changing philosophical perspectives of care; and the differences in professional scope between pre-service and in-service training.
