Abstract

Leisure activities are important for children and youth to develop an identity, explore options, and develop interests. It is through free-time activities that one develops positive social behaviors, cooperative skills, and leadership. Over the past twenty-five years the importance of leisure activities for youth have been well documented on the impact of specific programs. Most professionals working with youth are left with questions on how to measure the impact of free-time offerings to youth. In times where economic resources are limited, there is limited opportunity to offer services that do not show direct impact on the clientele.
