Abstract

The managers of most non-profit agencies are interested in improving their local community. The managers of organizations in rural areas have a particularly good opportunity to make a difference; however, learning to listen and to collaborate with other organizations can be difficult. This paper describes how this process can result in the education of a more effective manager and also in the solving of a serious community issue.
