Abstract

Young people can be understood in multiple ways, and one choice faced by youthwork has to do with whether we interpret them as a problem to be solved or as an opportunity for exploration. The former per­spective is associated with the scientific understanding of adolescence and adolescent. The latter is associated with human development anthropolo­gy. The choice between these influences what we believe are the relevant threats to young people and youthwork methods, aims, and outcomes
